Explain a bit?
my confusion was with the layout – after staring at it a while longer I think I get it. I assumed either rows/columns corresponded to something or that each box corresponded to a unit of time somehow

Idea is 3 pipelines (for projects) - the 3 horizontal bands - to ensure one type isn’t alway ‘more important’ and doesn’t drown out the others. Ie space to both look at ‘small stuff’ and the ‘big important stuff’.

for me the grid structure led me to follow a column downwards through all 3 bands at first; also the sideways text is a bit of a pain to read
