I've still not worked out what the best video format is for uploading to Twitter. the compression always looks so bad. Anyone got any pointers?

It seems to hangle gif most graciously, ffmpeg does it well. Learned that from
@thespite and@beesandbombs
yeah it treats gif fairly well. even though it converts to mp4 on their end who knows

i mean... GIF is a shit format, specially regarding compression. 15MB of GIF go down to less than 4-5MB. also you have playback control and hardware decoding. it's basically gifv
