An especially happy pride to people who are just starting to ask questions about themselves! It's OK to not have answers! There is no timeline! Figure yourself out at your pace!

If Black children are old enough to experience racism, then other children are old enough to learn about critical race theory.

You are not “burnt out”. You are exploited, overworked & underpaid. Use language that accurately describes the underlying problem. Your body isn't broken; the conditions you're enduring are what's broken. Your body is accurately & normally responding to exploitation.

We cannot achieve justice after the police kill us. Justice is Black people getting to enjoy our youth, grow old, and live our lives free of police violence.

Just a friendly reminder that you are not a machine, so you might need more food, rest, social connection, and/or comforting than you did yesterday, and that’s perfectly alright.

My anxiety has been replaced with sadness. This didn’t have to happen. The video of Chauvin killing Floyd was horrific, but it shouldn’t take a gut wrenching video for people to value Black lives. I hope this verdict doesn’t make anyone feel good about this country.

It is a blasphemous thought to assume that Black creatives would just be willing to dedicate their lives to their artistry + not want to receive their flowers from it. We’re not only working on building our legacies but there’s the component of “feeling seen” overall.
