Frank & Becky

Ready for Minncino community day.

I finish the day playing video games with friends and packing more envelopes til midnight. Becky wants me to check in on her work and I’m always amazed by her. We’ve been doing this together for over 10 years. I instantly fall asleep. That was hourly comics day, it was great.

Dinner calculus: Frozen pizza is too sad, fancy pizza is too expensive. It’s a shoot-out in my mind over fast food pizza and for the first time in 10 years Pizza Hut wins. I have regrets.

Continuing my hourly non-comics diary! Didn’t end up writing much but I’m past the point of beating myself up over that. I end up fixing our label writer and getting some envelopes ready to mail to friends. Time spent thinking about friends > Any book I’ll ever write.

Ended up thinking a lot about how when I was a kid I overnight downloaded a Windows 95 unofficial Sonic the Hedgehog icon set that was only 1mb. It was on a server in Germany and it took forever with my 28.8 modem that was hooked up to real bad University internet.

Afterwards, I started playing with ideas to get more productive on the graphic novel I'm writing, I ended up making a Windows taskbar shortcut to the Google doc I've been writing in, so it's easier to access.

Continuing my hourly non-comics diary! Becky made some great sourdough sandwiches for lunch then went to work on Bustletown stuff. I enjoyed a couple beers playing games with @BloodyGopher!

Every dollar helps White Cat so don’t be shy about just kicking in a couple bucks. I’m happy to do a quick sketch whatever you want (as long as it ain’t rude) :)

Becky woke up a half hour later and we ordered breakfast from Sqirl (crispy rice, tumeric juice) and lounge in bed til 11am. We eventually crawl out into the world to take a walk around Echo Park lake. We reminisce about the 10yr anniversary of Tigerbuttah & plan for the future.

I woke up around 9:30, no alarm clock, with two beautiful cats crawling all over me. I look out at that bright blue Los Angeles sky outside my window, but I miss the palm tree they cut down.

I had crazy idiot dreams all night. Living in a castle, my computer being full of acoustic foam and catching fire, @ratkingrises bringing every kind of fast food pizza into a movie theater ("It's fine!"), finding @jamie_dee's dog in the trunk of our car eating impossible burgers.

Frank's hourly comics diary! I don't draw so I thought I'd just run you through our day. Around midnight last night we were just finishing Arctic Dogs (2019), drinking a bag of wine and screaming with @cartoonfuntime & @torahhorse.
