I had the pleasure of speaking at @TEDxUAlberta a couple of months ago and my talk, "Sex, Lies, and Video Games" was just posted online! Immortalized forever on the internet.... yes. Good.

Also why did you use Sub-Zero when comparing male and female characters in Mortal Kombat? What about the other male characters who fight shirtless and are all ripped?

@marco_trasvina Many of the men in Mortal Kombat are sexualized (including Sub Zero to an extent) but ALL of the women are. @Soitgoesanyway and I chose Sub-Zero as an example of a male character who is not as sexualized (like Johnny Cage) to contrast the women.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -
Replying to @bdotexe @TEDxUAlberta
Another response I missed. When I saw it, it came off as being one sided. Maybe if you compared the shirtless men too then mentioned all the woman it'd be better.

Haha I agree! I wish I could have done that. I had a lot I wanted to talk about and only 15 minutes! It definitely led to some points not being as well-explained or fleshed out. In the future I want to further explore both sides of gender representation in games!
