Hey @TeamYouTube FIX YOUR COPYRIGHT CLAIM SYSTEM!!!! I have some random CHINESE COMPANY claiming my videos?! Yes, I can dispute this thank goodness...but this should NEVER even happen in the first place!pic.twitter.com/rQSpczeP7r

      1. Put some kind of "manual review flag" process in place for OBVIOUSLY BOGUS copyright claims like this 2. If someone is found to be placing bogus claims, BLOCK THEM FROM MAKING FUTURE CLAIMS!!! This "guilty until proven innocent" system needs fixing!

The problem for Youtube is that if they block companies from making claims, all the huge companies would get blocked, since they want all the possible money from something they own and it's hard to get enough people to review the claims, because of all the content being uploaded.

If you read closer, I'm not asking them to block companies from making claims *or* saying all claims should be manually reviewed

I know that's not what you meant, I'm just a bit limited by the Twitter character limit, I could've tried rewriting that a bit better. I feel like they could make an AI that would find patterns in certain companies claiming things randomly, which could help the situation.

I feel like if a copyright claim is released, the one that filed the claim should get a copyright strike. Three strikes and their account is deleted. There needs to be punishment for false claims.

The problem is that this could get companies that abuse the system, but since there are so many music video reuploads, etc. and they're mainly from these companies it would backfire on Youtube and they may even be sued for not letting them claim earnings on something they own.

"it would backfire on Youtube and they may even be sued for not letting them claim earnings on something they own." You see this is where a large part of the problem is and is something most YouTubers and the general populace don't seem to understand in the corporate world 1/2

The rather common place three strikes and banned system we deal with won't work without opening up a whole slew of legal issues. 2/2
