Finally, even if this were true (its not), magically adding amino acid residues from one virus to another does not somehow make it more virulent. There is overwhelming evidence nCoV emerged from a bat with a possible intermediate host.

The sequence for RaTG13 was only published on Jan 25 by the Wuhan Virology Institute. That’s the same institution that would have “accidentally released” 2019nCoV. Whether or not that’s the case, it’d be nice to see those insertions in work done outside the Wuhan Institute.
