When the Today show broadcasts its beeps to signify the hour mark, it's slightly delayed on FM, delayed further on DAB, and delayed even further on internet radio because of buffering. So why bother?
Trying to wrap my head around that concept. Surely on internet radio, the buffer gap would vary depending on the device, no? Or have I misunderstood you?

I'm simply saying that when radio is fed into a digital platform the time signal should be detected (easy) and processed so that it sounds warbled. So the user knows not to rely on it.
