This will screw with your mind Barry - stand near to Big Ben with an FM radio and you'll hear it through the radio before you hear it coming from the tower itself!

- I think this might be because broadcasters take there signal from the atomic clock in Rugby or Germany and Big Ben's accuracy is based on pennies.

Sorry, causing confusion here. I was referring to when they broadcast the sound of Big Ben, rather than the "pips".

Always thought they should 'warble' the pips on platforms where the time is inaccurate. Should be very easy to do.

Trying to wrap my head around that concept. Surely on internet radio, the buffer gap would vary depending on the device, no? Or have I misunderstood you?

I'm simply saying that when radio is fed into a digital platform the time signal should be detected (easy) and processed so that it sounds warbled. So the user knows not to rely on it.
