Who makes the best Android keyboard? Surprise surprise, it's Google...https://bigtechquestion.com/2018/03/07/phones/android/gboard-review-is-this-the-best-android-keyboard-in-2018/ …
Interesting. I found the opposite. Find Gboard much stronger at suggesting the correct word.

It could be because I'm such a bad typist that I insert mistakes early on in a word. Autocorrect might then get the start of the word right, but not the whole word. I then backspace to correct the very end of the word, & in Gboard the whole darn word changes.

I usually find the autocorrect has changed a word that I typed correctly in the first place, so being able to delete one letter and put it back to how I intended works best for me. SwiftKey is infuriating in that regard.

Gboard would be better for me if I could turn that off, but I can't.pic.twitter.com/5C4tP1Vyn0

The issue isn't only suggesting the correct word, though. One huge irritation is that when Gboard autocorrects incorrectly & I start to delete, it switches the word back to what I originally typed, which is less likely to be correct than the autocorrect, if you see what I mean.

That’s what I love most about it!

Gboard might be better for me if there was a setting to turn off what you love & I hate. But also, I hate emojis & get so irritated that the unwanted emoji keyboard pops up accidentally all the time, much more so in Gboard.
