Relatively obscure? Editor of BBC bureau in the largest country and one of the largest economies in the world.

You're confusing the country with the correspondent.
-
So you were describing Carrie Gracie as obscure?
-
I'm saying the role is relatively obscure. No doubt it's a senior position, but do you need to pay well in excess of six figures to find someone qualified to staff it? I doubt it.
-
I guess that depends on how well you want one of the most important BBC bureaus run.
-
She earned more than the British ambassador to China. I know which I'd consider the more pivotal role.

The BBC are unique, they get money without having to prove their worth. Just a bunch of overpaid left wing luvvies who continually get away with flouting the law. If they had to go subscription they'd be gone in no time.
-
Don't agree with the vast majority of that tweet. Most BBC journalists I've met are superb professionals. But salaries need to be looked at across the board.
-
Well something is pushing their whole left wing feminist agenda. It's almost overbearing. If not the professional journalists then who?
-
I think Sir may have consumed too much Daily Mail :)
-
Never read it. Just BBC news. Oh wait......

Of all the embarrassment of asshat targets of ire at the moment, I'm not sure picking on a woman seeking pay equality would be my first port of call.
-
I'm not getting at her. I'm getting at six figure salaries for relatively obscure foreign correspondents.

Fluent Chinese speaker - spends most of her life there. That's more than the Ambassador can claim. Money very well spent. Some watch to much Southern news rather than BBC NEWS
-
Hey, don't knock the coverage of the A23 bypass.

I've heard a few complaints about Victoria Derbyshire.
