After a week the answer is no. On a 3rd Gen i3 with 8Gb RAM, it get horrendously slow with multiple tabs that the older version ran no bother. If you think this is quicker than Chrome, that must nave been really slow!

I run Firefox on a 2008 Centrino processor with 4GB RAM and a 5400 RPM hard drive and it runs pretty quick. Something may be wrong with your Firefox and I'd like to help you troubleshoot if you've got a few minutes.

Although I have the memory to spare, Firefox does seem to be chomping through it...pic.twitter.com/receF1VLew

Had left a browser session open overnight. 20 tabs (not unusual). 5 of 8 GB used! There was one new site in that for PCB design and that may have done it.

Yep, there is something not right. My laptop fans are whirring more than normal, too.

Have you drilled down in Task Manager to see if one tab has gone rogue? Google Calendar did it for me - went totally nuts as it does in Chrome.

Tweetdeck was taking half a gig, but the rest were taking 100 or 200MB each too.
