iOS 11 doesn’t appear to have destroyed the iPad. Not sure the Dock or the app selector thingy really add anything. All a bit ho hum.
Just writing a piece on how it performs on original iPad Air.

I’ve not updated that one yet. I can’t imagine that well, since mine isn’t overly thrilled about running iOS 10.
-
It's not that bad, actually.
-
Doubly so now it’s not possible to use the Mac to browse and buy new iOS apps. Oh well, I had three(ish) years of iPad not making me sick.
-
One of my happy moments with the new Dock: it still takes folders. So I have semi-instant access to as many apps as I want.
-
Also, wish there was an option to sort the contents of a Home screen folder, by name, recently updated, or pending notifications.
-
I realise 3D Youch acts as a shortcut for apps with awaiting notifications, but no such thing on iPad.
-
Also sad Files on iPad has 3D Touch-style widget when you hold on its icon, but Apple hasn’t replicated that effect on its other iPad apps.
