Off the defender doesn't matter. Would still be offside. But it was played backwards. Not one of their defenders appealed for offside.

Only if Lino thought bask moving forward (off defender) was a pass. I couldn't see that part as I had Chief's arm in my face

Oh, I see. Possibly. From where I was stood, it seemed Matt George was ahead of Landais anyway. So whether ball went forward or not was moot

I think he was, so the pass was backwards (onside). The deflection moved it forwards (or even level) then George pounced
