Yes, it's undoubtedly become a pyschological thing. Partly because they enter every knockout game being asked repeatedly about shootouts.

Agreed but we also play with fear during normal play too. It's part of the coaching psyche in UK to focus on eliminating mistakes.

That means players fear making mistakes and stop trying to be positive as a result. All psychological. Spain are the opposite.

Spain were v similar to England in 80s and 90s - massively underachieving and shit at penalties. We need to do what they did :)

Agreed. Fusball for young kids, more touches and time on the ball. Less focus on results. Won't happen here. Lump it up to the big lad!
