Super happy that Grenfell tower survivors are being kept together, but so confused by this story: https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2017/jun/21/grenfell-tower-families-to-be-given-68-flats-in-luxury-apartment-complex?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_WhatsApp …

They're selling at cost, seemingly. Hence the praise. I suppose. But also what Barry said.
-
There's no seemingly. Who knows? I think it's a fair question. The person who wrote the person -- who is not me -- didn't bother to find out
-
Sale at cost is being reported in the Standard. But cost was still huge, despite an extremely healthy mark-up.
-
So if they're selling at cost there's no markup? Sorry, this is the point I'm trying to understand.
-
Sold at cost, you're right. Total price of £10m is *incredibly* cheap. £147k each on average.
-
There's no way they're being bought for that - even at cost they'd be far more than that. Surely? Seems to be a lot of confusion over this.
-
Hence my questions. But Standard source says £10m. That's gotta be a discount. Or we get massively gouged on new properties. Bit of both?
-
It's a prime location - don't see cost of a flat being ~£150,000. Or anywhere near that. Must be higher.
