Making Xbox One backwards compatible is pointless, especially a year after launch. Nobody plays old games on new consoles.

@bazzacollins 'backwards compatible'; is it fuck. They're offering them as downloads, and charging for the fucking privilege.

@bazzacollins at near enough full whack, too, I'm guessing.

@bazzacollins interesting if true, but what's to stop people picking up whatever they're after for a few quid at CEX?

@bazzacollins it doesn't seem like Microsoft to pass up a potential revenue stream, and Sony did the same thing with classic PS1/2 games

@bazzacollins I'd love to believe it, and if it's true, it's great news. For some reason though, I just don't trust it in my gut.

@bazzacollins I also enjoyed many hours playing Ninja Gaiden (Orig Xbox game) on Xbox 360, so I guess I disagree :-)

@bazzacollins it's true that backward compat is most valuable on launch (when there aren't many new games) so it's all a bit late

@bazzacollins New consoles are easily powerful enough. Lack of compat is s customer hostile action by manufacturers.

@bazzacollins Can't agree there. We keep an old PS2 around just to play some games we can't play in PS3. Lack of b/ward comp is a joke
