@bazzacollins - I kept and bred tropical fish for 20 years, at peak I had 17 tanks so if you need help you know where I am.
Setting up a new aquarium for first time in 20 years. The amount of contradictory advice online is bewildering.

@MikeHenson Which fish did you use to kick off an aquarium? Lots of people saying guppies/neons now too sensitive to use as starter fish. -
@bazzacollins - Get the tank filters running for two weeks using a proprietary starter tank additive then add 1 or 2 Plecs depending on tank -
@MikeHenson Thanks for the advice. Not a huge fan of Plecs, though. Corys? -
@bazzacollins - Yes you can use a Cory but they're not keen on being alone and they won't clean algae off the glass or decor -
@MikeHenson Yes, would get three or four. Might leave that for a bit, though, and let tank mature first.

@Sekonda_@bazzacollins what's up? :) -
@LukeDaly_@Sekonda_ Thanks! Tips on which fish to kickstart an aquarium with? Some saying Guppies, Neons are now too sensitive. -
@bazzacollins have a read on ukaps! Brilliant forum. I started with Galaxy Rasbora (Celestial Pearl Danios) still have them, awesome fish. -
@LukeDaly_ Thank for the advice. Much appreciated. -
@bazzacollins No problem dude. Ukaps will have you on to planted tanks in no time haha. Awesome hobby. -
@LukeDaly_ Yep, have a planted tank. However, reading forums had freaked me out about what fish to use first! -
@bazzacollins Galaxy Rasbora are a great choice. Get a few Armano Shrimp in there too! You will soon have all sorts of compressed co2 haha

@MsEmmaChaplin Even keeping a bloody guppy alive requires 24-hour care, if you believe some of the forums. -
@bazzacollins I don't get the allure of fish. But many feel the same about my son's rats, and they have proved remarkably lovely & smart
