@bazzacollins was just about to post about how brilliant it is that they're all mixed up together, event wise.

@Sarah_Lady Great, isn't it? -
@bazzacollins and the commentating is much less patronising as a result. Just athletes competing. -
@Sarah_Lady Yep. Can see the arguments against, but I think the benefits outweigh the downsides.

@bazzacollins because the number of events/competitors would be huge and hard to manage. The whole games would last six weeks or more. -
@woodenscot The two events last that long combined anyway? -
@bazzacollins but not with both sets of athletes being housed at the same time -
@bazzacollins & the arg goes that some of the smaller para evts would get squeezed out e.g.bocha to the detriment of more severely disabled -
@woodenscot I can see that argument. But then I think more people would watch Paralympic events if placed in between Olympic events.

@bazzacollins Best person to ask is@Tanni_GT Barry :) I think it's because there are so many more events - logistical nightmare -
@JulianMHall@Tanni_GT That's a shame. -
@bazzacollins Did you know for example all four tennis Slams have wheelchair events as well? Wimbledon got about 5 minutes -
@JulianMHall Good point. But then I did watch some of the wheelchair tennis this year, because it was on during Wimbledon. -
@bazzacollins@JulianMHall The BBC did show the#wheelchairtennis at Wimbledon on the red button & it is played in all 4 Grand Slams. -
@ITFWheelchair I know it's in all 4 Slams, I said that; however it wasn't even /mentioned/ on the Red Button until we had..@bazzacollins

@bazzacollins@quevega As Tanni Grey Thompson said on TV the other day there are too many events for it to be possible - End of conversation

@bazzacollins Probably something to do with Olympic commercial partners -
@quevega Perhaps, although I can't see sponsors objecting. -
@bazzacollins Sadly one has mass appeal and the other less (not saying that's right), turn viewers off if dividing up the "Main" Olympics?
