@bazzacollins It's impossible to know, isn't it?
Has anyone out there found the Telephone Preference Service to be effective?

@PaulOckenden Well, quite. So anecdotal evidence is the best I can do. It seems most people (like me) so no difference in volume of calls. -
@bazzacollins I do know of cold calling agencies that screen their data against the TPS list. UK based, obviously. -
@PaulOckenden Yep. At risk of sounding Daily Mail, it's the foreign call centres that plainly ignore it. -
@bazzacollins Plus anyone where there' seven the slightest hint of an existing B2C relationship. Plus anything that could be considered B2B. -
@PaulOckenden Indeed. Handing over your phone number is practically a requirement for most registrations now.

@bazzacollins - I saw a huge reduction in mine originally though the persistent ones still get through. -
@bazzacollins - I'd like to see the regulators doing much more in this area. Seem to shy away from it. -
@GaryMHough Absolutely. Too much buck-passing between Ofcom, ICO and TPS. -
@bazzacollins - Check out the pain mobjizz are causing in the mobile space getting these numbnuts blocked is nigh on impossible for many. -
@GaryMHough Disgusting that phone companies still charge for call filtering services, too. -
@bazzacollins - I didn't realise that. Those cold callers who get through to me get educated ;-)

@bazzacollins like a one-legged man at an arse-kicking party. We greet transgressors with ‘this call is being recorded’. Most hang up. -
@Sweder That description (slightly modified) is going in my column :) -
@bazzacollins least I can do, given your fine work on fixture list sync. V impressed with iCal results -
@Sweder No problem. About to pop them up on the website.

@bazzacollins No Still get junk calls from crooks/marketeers who claim to be in this country and even 1471 spoofed. http://www.webologist.co.uk/blog/there-is-a-semantic-error-in-the-application-goodbye … - End of conversation

@bazzacollins - It’s difficult to tell when you don’t know how many calls you’d get if you weren’t registered -
@MikeHenson Yes, although most people who've signed up appear to see little difference in call volumes.
