@bazzacollins Completely agree, ditched my iPhone for the far superior Nexus 4 which I picked up "as new" for £170. #bargain
Testing some "low-end" Android handsets. Increasingly convinced that spending £500 or more on top-end smartphones is dumb.

@lucidblog How's battery life? -
@bazzacollins Better than iPhone, typical day is moderate email/web access, frequent audio/social media use. Average 20% left at bedtime. -
@lucidblog That's not bad. Several reports of poor battery life put me off that phone. -
@bazzacollins That's fair enough, my next phone will be the Nexus 5 if this one gets left in the pub. Is the Moto G any good? -
@lucidblog Yep. Superb little phone. Camera isn't great and it's not as fast as the top phones, but I'd happily use one.

@bazzacollins I’m doing a lot more Android stuff of late. I find it much harder to find decent apps. The value’s still in the ecosystem. -
@CraigGrannell I have no problem with apps for smartphones. Agree tablet selection/optimisation is still thin. -
@bazzacollins Quality is generally worse, I find; less polish is frequently evident. Reminds me a lot of Win/OS X in that regard. -
@CraigGrannell I think Apple still has the edge on quality. Not sure the Windows/Mac comparison is fair, mind:) -
@bazzacollins I meant in terms of third-party apps rather than the OS itself (esp. Indies).

@bazzacollins So right. This morning I phoned EE and did 12 month deal using my 2yr old but still excellent Galaxy S3. -
@SoupTheChicken Good thing about S3 is that you can change battery to keep it going.

@bazzacollins Does it make a difference that few literally drop five tonne, instead pay it up over the life of a contract? -
@chrisphin They generally pay more over the course of the contract than they would by buying outright. Both increasingly hard to justfiy

@bazzacollins I don't use power in my phone but screen and camera important. Anything with good screen & camera but last gen chips? -
@gj4man Original Nexus One? -
@bazzacollins Oh, that budget? Currently got SGS3 with SlimKat ROM & extended battery & thinking about change. But just bored, I think!

@bazzacollins But on Android specifically, I’m not sure I’d spend over £250 on a handset.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
