@bazzacollins media calls professionals to account when children are neglected or abused. Where exactly should that line be drawn?

@Sweder I take your point but I've been allowed to have children without supervision for the past five years. Why now? -
@bazzacollins@Sweder It's just the school ensuring it can do what it can to ensure she's comfortable in her new environment. -
@Gingeraction@Sweder I'm absolutely fine with meeting teachers, with or without Fern. The home visit makes me feel like I'm being vetted. -
@bazzacollins@Sweder Maybe there is an element of that but maybe they have a better idea of the kids seeing them in their home environment -
@Gingeraction@Sweder I can see both sides. My partner, who's a teacher, is v much in favour. It still feels like an intrusion to me. -
@bazzacollins@Gingeraction Mrs H is a community nursery nurse, visits many kids/ parents at home. She sees both sides.

@bazzacollins wtf is this a normal thing now assume for next school approaching 10-11 age? -
@GrahamBranch No, it's for Fern because she's starting school. It's a standard thing now. -
@bazzacollins doh mixed up the kids names in my head is this really that important or are they checking potty trained -
@GrahamBranch No, it's just a meet and greet.

@bazzacollins eh? They send a teacher round each child's house? Bloody hell. -
@allpointsnorth Indeed. Seems a waste of everyone's time.

@bazzacollins We turned the home visit down last Sep., feeling it was invasive. They were fine with it. -
@barrybloye Even odder because we already have a child at the school.
