@BTCare A fibre cabinet has been installed around the corner from my house. How can I tell if I will be connected?
@BTCare That's insane. Surely someone, somewhere knows who's going to be connected to that cabinet?

@bazzacollins As advised we can only go by the information available by Openreach. We will let you know once the service is available to you -
@BTCare So who can I contact at Openreach? -
@bazzacollins@BTCare I agree. Lack of info is daft. Have you tried the OR Line Checker? That gives a bit more info http://bit.ly/1gS3Gjb -
@Yorkie71 Yep, it's equally useless :) Just want to know if that cab is going to reach me. They must know. -
@bazzacollins The line checker at least tells you what cab you are connected to, if at all. Or if you are Exchange Only line. -
@Yorkie71 It doesn't for me. Cab is about 300-400 yards away. -
@bazzacollins That's odd because all the ones I have checked state the cab number which is helpful. Can you nab the OR engineer?

@bazzacollins@BTCare - People think it’s coming so they register an interest. If enough people register they’ll connect it otherwise not -
@MikeHenson No, that would be truly insane. The expense is the installation, which has already been completed. -
@bazzacollins - The box costs nothing. The expensive bit is running the fibre optic cable from the exchange to the box -
@MikeHenson If there were no other fibre in the area, you might have a point. But the ducting etc will have been largely done.

@bazzacollins so logically they install a cabinet having no info about who or when will connect to it#etCantphonehome#pUpinabrewey -
@GrahamBranch Staggering, isn't it? -
@bazzacollins any of this any good http://www.openreach.co.uk/orpg/home/contactus/contactus.do … I feel a nice scathing piece coming up they’ve armed you with plenty of info not - End of conversation
