@ghalfacree I just don't see it having any practical benefit. How often would you want to swap/upgrade bits of a phone?
@ghalfacree It does in the phone market. Niche means no network support. Ubunu Edge is a case in point.

@bazzacollins There *are*, however, handset makers and network signed up to make Ubuntu Touch smartphones in the near future...Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

@bazzacollins Ubuntu Edge failed 'cos Canonical never had any intention of making it. $30M crowdfunding goal? PR excercise, nowt more. -
@ghalfacree@bazzacollins we had a hardware partner lined up to build the Edge. Shame we couldn't raise enough. -
@popey@bazzacollins I still maintain there is absolutely no way Canonical thought it would ever raise $30M - the biggest crowd-fund *ever.* -
@ghalfacree@popey@bazzacollins *WADES IN* Star Citizen raised $40 mill in crowd funding. I agree with Gareth, though if anyone cares! -
@another_russell@popey@bazzacollins And set a new record in doing so; at the time Edge was funding, the highest raised was Pebble's $10M.
