Radio 2 celebrating 20 years since Brit Pop. Feel old. Realise I'm listening to Radio 2. Feel older.
@Sarah_Lady Guess they're running from the mainstream arrival of Oasis/Blur.

@bazzacollins but it's just lazy. Be like changing when punk started to '75. Loads of the 'Britpop' bands had been around for years. -
@Sarah_Lady Not sure I agree. Doesn't a movement have to have been going for a while before someone gives it a label? -
@bazzacollins I feel quite strongly about this, can you tell? -
@Sarah_Lady We used to go down to an "indie" club in Romford, of all places, to listen to Blur, Oasis etc in 94, whilst still at 6th form. -
@bazzacollins The Clash et al existed pre-76 but no one called them punk bands until they were labelled that. -
@Sarah_Lady I’m calling this the Naff Pop era, just in case it takes-off. -
@bazzacollins@Sarah_Lady I'm enjoying the formative years of BazzPop - End of conversation

@bazzacollins (in the mainstream that is, this indie kid had loved them since '91) -
@Sarah_Lady@bazzacollins Blur>Oasis x -
@Gingeraction@Sarah_Lady Don't you start. -
@bazzacollins@Sarah_Lady We should be in a pub discussing this one. -
@Gingeraction@bazzacollins absolutely. If either of you want to read the magnificent The Last Party by John Harris. I have a copy.

@bazzacollins also it wasn't mainstream until very late '94 at the earliest. I saw blur in October '94 and no-one at school knew who…Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
