@bazzacollins He didn't deny a goal or goal scoring opportunity though.

@leemtrobbo It was a clear opportunity to score a goal. Why else would he have handled it? He should escape punishment for poor judgement? -
@bazzacollins the opportunity to score a goal had gone, the shot was going wide. All he did was deny a goal kick. Laws are in his favour. -
@leemtrobbo By that logic, players who swing a punch and miss shouldn't be sent off for violent conduct? -
@bazzacollins not necessarily. The player's 'conduct' would still be considered 'violent' whether he connects or not. -
@leemtrobbo Hmmm… We may have to disagree on this one. Besides, you’re just jealous an outfield player pulled off a good save :)

@bazzacollins deliberate HB = yellow Deny goal-scoring opp = red. Shot wide so no GSO. Intent not mentioned in the law -
@Rookmeister Depends on your definition of "opportunity" but Chelsea definitely had an opportunity to score. -
@bazzacollins no CFC player beyond Ox, shot going wide … where’s the opportunity? No support for red in law, hence reversal
