@bazzacollins tv is live. Without that engine you have no real content. Netflix et al are ciphers really
Rapidly coming to conclusion we could live without "live" TV. Netflix, iplayer and Apple TV (including Sky Now) is all we need.

@danielcouzens What TV programmes do you watch live these days? -
@bazzacollins sadly enough things like the voice. Dr who. I see a lot via iplayer but my pt is tv channels r source of richest content -
@danielcouzens All of that is on iplayer. -
@bazzacollins true but I think the need to produce content for a timeframe is the spark that leads to quality programmes. -
@danielcouzens Not sure I agree. House of Cards is evidence of that. -
@bazzacollins a remake of a bbc show. I'm not being dogmatic abt this but am not starry eyed abt wonders of netflix et al. -
@danielcouzens US House of Cards bears little resemblance to BBC version. Entirely new script, plots and characters. - 1 more reply

@bazzacollins - I'll just log in to Netflix and watch last weeks news -
@MikeHenson Or click on iPlayer and watch BBC News whenever you like. -
@bazzacollins - But the BBC need the licence feed from "live" TV and Radio for the content to put onto iPlayer -
@MikeHenson Not arguing licence fee should be scrapped. Indeed, I've argued in past that it should be levied on iPlayer users. -
@bazzacollins - You don't have pay to use other players so why charge for iPlayer? -
@MikeHenson Not suggesting you charge for iPlayer, merely that people who use it are forced to pay the licence fee, same as you and I.
