Not sure I’m buying this BT installed NSA backdoors in its routers story. Fails to answer big question: why? http://www.networkworld.com/news/2013/121613-report-accuses-bt-of-supplying-276975.html?page=1 …
@PaulOckenden @StewartMitchell Only reason I can think of tapping router is it allows you to tap Tor traffic etc.

@bazzacollins@StewartMitchell Only if the TOR client is running on the router, which it won't be if it has BT supplied firmware. -
@bazzacollins@PaulOckenden@StewartMitchell Also the devices referenced aren't routers. They're VDSL modems. -
@sbisson@bazzacollins@StewartMitchell In the paper they seem confused between modems and routers. 'Pure' modems don't make DHCP requests. -
@PaulOckenden@bazzacollins@StewartMitchell Also hta thte BT DSL network ATM layer supports multiple VCs for different ISPs. -
@sbisson@bazzacollins@StewartMitchell Bit of the paper are laughable. The 'Easy' confirmation', NSA responding to pings, etc.
