It’s a stupid rule that says a goalkeeper can bounce a ball and still be considered in control of the ball.
@gj4man Nice try, but you can legally steal possession off a basketball player bouncing ball. You can’t do so legally with a keeper.

@bazzacollins You can legally steal whilst they're holding the ball in both hands too. But not by kicking at it :-) -

@bazzacollins I think the point was that the keeper has control of the ball whilst bouncing it, & you can't tackle a keeper who has control -
@gj4man I think it's legitimate to challenge for a bouncing ball, but it seems me and the FA/FIFA disagree. -
@bazzacollins would lead to lots of knee-high lunges if allowed, I think.
