@bazzacollins To be fair, if he'd targeted winning the next one everybody would've laughed at him and not read the rest of the report.
Greg Dyke sets target of winning World Cup in 2022. So England fans shouldn't bother next year, then?

@ryfish But why on Earth would we go to a World Cup not aiming to win it? -
@bazzacollins No, very fair point. Maybe he should've said "aim to win next year or 2018, *expect* to win by 2022" ? -
@ryfish Indeed. The lack of ambition around the England team is half the problem. Greece won the Euros, FFS. -
@bazzacollins We might as well throw caution to the wind; defence isn't strong enough to rely on. If there's failure it should be glorious! -
@ryfish Exactly. I'd throw Rooney, Walcott, the Ox and Sturridge up front and aim to kill others with pace. No hope with Cautious Roy. -
@bazzacollins I'd have pacey fullbacks too. So long as Wellbeck doesn't get near the starting XI I'd take that :-) -
@ryfish We've got those too. Cole and Walker/Johnson. Gerrard and Wilshere holding the middle. We've actually got a decent team. - 2 more replies
