@bazzacollins That’s because its just a laptop with the gubbins in the screen instead of the keyboard ;)
Have only been using combo for a week, but iPad’s now become pure consumption device, and Surface Pro is the device for getting stuff done

@PaulLomax Where are the gubbins in the iPad then? ;) -
@bazzacollins Doesn’t have (or require) a keyboard and mouse touchpad. The apps are actually designed for touch :-) -
@PaulLomax Actually, the big difference between the two is a full browser. Amazing how much stuff you still cannot do in Safari for iOS. -
@bazzacollins Flash, obviously. But what else? View source I suppose. -
@PaulLomax No, more basic stuff. Chartbeat struggles on iOS, web forms are awkward, Sky’s fibre broadband checker doesn’t work, etc -
@bazzacollins So more the fault of websites that haven’t touch/mobile optimised, where it’s best to use a laptop? Know what you mean. -
@PaulLomax In a way, but there are plenty of sites that are still not mobile optimised. Our review filters don’t work on iOS, for example :)

@bazzacollins Have to say my Chromebook is still device of choice. Very powerful connection to our wifi at end of garden (aka my office) -
@theballisround I’m a fan of the Chromebooks, too. Much better than they were when they first launched. -
@bazzacollins Only downside for me is we aren't able to install a VPN client onto it so I can use it for work -
@theballisround is there not a Chrome app that does that? -
@bazzacollins Not one that works with our servers alas -
@theballisround@bazzacollins If this discourse is any indication of this season's programme contents I may be forced to do a 'Gerry Daly' -
@LordPlumpton@theballisround We may have to scrap Tech Corner. Dammit. -
@bazzacollins@theballisround While I've got you both, have you any idea yet of first few deadlines? - 4 more replies

@bazzacollins How come? Article, pls (or at least some tweets). -
@CraigGrannell Will try and blog next week. Essentially boils down to full browser vs Safari on iOS.

@bazzacollins do you have the logitech keyboard on the iPad? and kb for SP? -
@jonhoneyball I do have keyboards for both. As I was explaining to@PaulLomax, the key difference is the full web browser…
