Given that every major tech firm seems to pay its corporation tax in Ireland, how come the Irish economy is so screwed?

@bazzacollins a lot of people seem to think that they have paid significantly less than even the 12.5% though. Closer to 2%? -
@iainmagee Interesting, then, that Ireland's getting screwed despite having the lowest tax rate. Maybe that's why the economy's snookered. -
@bazzacollins to be fair - Ireland has definitely benefited hugely from all these big companies. many jobs also.
