By the way, the broken fridge is a 16-month-old @HotpointUK model that both Hotpoint and the retailer @ao say I should pay at least £150 to get repaired.
I'll be seeing them both in the Small Claims Court.

It is the line they all peddle which the majority of the uninitiated falls for. If they think you know what you are talking about, they usually offer some 'goodwill'.

Oh, we are going through the process that will either end in them paying for it to be repaired or they will pay in court. It's just tedious that you have to go through it.
