It seems you're as blissfully unaware of consumer law as your telephone support line.
-
It is the line they all peddle which the majority of the uninitiated falls for. If they think you know what you are talking about, they usually offer some 'goodwill'.
-
Oh, we are going through the process that will either end in them paying for it to be repaired or they will pay in court. It's just tedious that you have to go through it.

- Don't forget if you purchased on credit card they have joint liability. Try to avoid Small Claims Court, the system is overloaded and can time a long time to get a resolution. I have a case that's been dragging on for over 18 months.
-
That's shocking and very unusual for a small claim. Do you need any help with it?
-
- No thank you. The Defendants have no idea what they're doing and have no idea how to present a case. Judge 1 found in my favour but then they applied to have the verdict set aside to which Judge 2 agreed on the basis that they present their case again. (1/2)

- Your claim is against the retailer who sold you the fridge. Under the Sale of Goods Act you have a right to expect an item like a fridge to last more that 16 months. The retailer can repair or replace the fridge.

You won’t get far suing the manufacturer. It’s the retailer you need to persue.

Interesting because Ao sold me a dishwasher that died after 2.5 years. I offered to split the repair and they took my hand off. Ask again and see if you get someone different?

Hi Barry. It is disappointing when an appliance goes faulty. However, no manufacturer can guarantee how long an appliance will last before a failure occurs. Therefore, the manufacturer supplies a guarantee period for parts and labour in which repairs and parts 1/2

Need to make manufacturers responsible for what they make including disposal. At the moment there is no financial incentive to make things that last and are repairable.
