Just got hit by a BT phone scammer claiming there are people eavesdropping on my broadband connection and he was going to help me stop it. Wanted me to open the Windows Event Viewer to prove what was happening. Weird MO.

I've not had an Event Viewer call before? Presumably trying to blind victims with logs.

They get you to reorder application logs by level, then worry you with all the error messages. Search event viewer scam on YouTube.

        - Ha, I had one of those a couple of weeks back, most fun I've had all year. I managed to keep him and his "supervisor" on the phone for 20 minutes, it would have been longer but I had a dentist appointment 🤣

I remember years ago a scammer calling me, they claimed to be from Microsoft and told me that my windows computer had been hacked. They could prove they were real by telling me what my IP address was. I told them I had a Mac, they hung up 😂
