I’m confused too. Don’t people know it’s acting? There’s more to choosing the right actor/actress than who physically ticks every box. Most times it comes down to budget, exposure, box office draw, money money money.
-
i don't understand too... isn't the director supposed to cast someone who can best act out a character?
-
That’s what I think too!!! And then they can inform the public bc the public will listen to an actress more than someone educated or personally gone through it as sad as that is. America I tell ya haha.
-
yeah. and it is still representation? i am confused. Hope someone will help educate me on it
-
Same lol
-
.... There are many trans actors who never get a chance to act coz they don't fit the Hollywood criteria.
-
Agree. Straight people ask me who is the man in my relationship and they don’t understand how that’s offensive. Trust me I get it haha. But yeah I just needed a different perspective bc acting is acting no matter how you look at it. Trans is def underrepresented. I just hope it’s

Sorry but some of you are missing the point. She’s an ACTRESS ... who ACTS. Soooo if you’re not who you are portraying, then you shouldn’t take the role?!? What about those playing serial killers? Police officers? Super heroes? You do realise acting is storytelling right? Smh

First ya complain about actresses not getting equal pay, representation or opportunities. Now you wanna drag her down for taking a role she may feel excited about, lucky to be offered, or thrilled to even be working. Pat on the back with 1 hand, smack in the face with the other!

With all due respect no one should be telling her what roles she should and should not take. She’s an actor she plays make believe for a living and if she’s given a script and believes in it she should be allowed to play that role without judgement. Especially from other actors.

In order to shine some light on the trans community and their lives, use a high profile actress. Do you know any trans people that will bring you to the movies and pay $12.00. I don't either. People need a life.

And this is why I have such respect for you as an actor and a person. Thank you for being an ally to Trans and enby folks and representing the Queer community with such integrity.

Ummm.... she's a big name that will move this movie to big screen as opposed to ANY unknown actor.... where nobody will see the movie. People need to stop being obsessed with the bubble of their own world... its so narcissistic
