    Next up for we've got the marvelous Miss Alfie and her adorable stub tail! 🦇 Alfie was originally found by someone who wasn't so nice. Thankfully, a very nice gentleman intervened and saved her! Her tail will never quite be the same, but that's okay! ❤

    Its just a sorta day 🦇 Priscilla the hoary bat was all too ready to show off her fluff. We may have caught her a touch off guard with her fist photo, but it's too cute not to share! Stay tuned for more batty booties later.

    Welcome, Grumpy Gideon! We've tried for days to get a pleasent photo of this guy. At this point, we are just pretty sure he's got permanent grump face He was found grounded & very thin. Gideon will stay with us for a bit while he gains weight, & after that he will be released🦇

    Alfie Update! 🦇 Her tail and face have healed wonderfully, and we are so happy to see how she's progressed. Her tail is permanently short and crooked, but she's fine with that, and so are we! ❤ If you missed the Alfie story, you can read it here...

    Busy day but we took a minute to capture the silver twins while weighing and examining them. They have grown so much ❤️ Our staff started supplemental feeding as momma silver isn’t producing enough milk for these two little floofs.

    Stoney will be receiving a course of antibiotics, a nice meal and a quick clean up. He will be with us while he heals, and we are hopeful that he will make a full recovery and be able to fly free once again. 🦇

    Thankfully, he was spotted by the Stevenson family, and they rushed into action to help! He was right in the path of oncoming cars, and with a injured wing he was helpless. They got him contained and brought him out to the Sanctuary immediately.

    Welcome, Mr. Stoney! ❤ This little Mexican free-tail joined us this evening after being found grounded at the drive thru of a local bank. Stoney appears to have sustained an injury to his wing, which progressively worsened until it was infected and prohibiting his flight

    Those are some serious snackin' skills, Mr. Captain. 🦇 Cap is an Indian flying fox, and our largest bat here. At night, he excitedly waits for his personal melon cup, as well as his treat puzzles. He may drop half the snacks in the process, but he sure has fun doing it. ❤

    NEVER handle bats, or any wildlife, barehanded! We are trained/vaccinated, and so are the bats you see here. Handling a bat puts both you, & the bat, at risk. If you find a bat that needs help, use thick gloves/cloth to move the bat into a cardboard box, and call us! 940-325-3404

    She joined our colony last year, and has been ruling the pouches ever since. Priscilla is a hoary bat, and is both one of the largest species of bat in the United States, as well as one of the most beautiful. 🥰

    Evie & Priscilla wanted us to do a lil comparison this morning. Evie (left) was just certain she was bigger than Priscilla (right), but she quickly realized that while her attitude may be far larger, her body is not. Evie is an evening bat, one of our smaller species here in TX

    We'd like to thank everyone who took the time to send us stuffed animals. All the plushies have been cleaned, and we are adding clips and getting these hung up. We like to rotate out weekly, and this leaves us w plenty. You guys rock! We are no longer accepting plushies so sorry
