not like Iron Dome hasn't been used (tech and resources wise) to improve our own missile defense tech. But nothing says Dem priorities like "damn the Jooos" and "strip defense funding"
-
Iron Dome has not seriously influenced US missile defense at all. The US military requires defense from larger and more capable rockets than what Hamas / Hazbollah fire. Iron Dome is perfect for Israel, but insufficient for conflicts against an industrialized military.

Remind me how much of the federal budget is just writing checks to other wealthy military allies like Britain or France or Canada or Germany because "that's how military alliances work"
-
We pervasively subsidize NATO (you may recall how much Trump moaned about this). Canada free-rides on the very fact of American hegemony in North America. We've given gobs of money to dubious "allies" like Pakistan & Ukraine. It's a tool of foreign policy.

Think of it as a form of policing, and it makes sense.

Did Israel get up and move to the Pacific? No? Then it’s not a core interest. Over emphasis on it is speaking in the obsolete language of the 1990s and 2000s. The Wars in the Muslim world are over. This is the day of what comes next.

How do military alliances work? Is Israel buying us an aircraft carrier for Christmas? Anyway, I'm a fan of Iron Dome & confident that Israel will maintain it, one way or another.
