I guess we are now moving off "pregnant persons" rhetoric.https://twitter.com/CBSNews/status/1433501414131748869 …

Psaki tells a male reporter who asked why Biden supports abortion: "He believes that it's up to a woman to make those decisions, and up to a woman to make those decisions with her doctor. I know you've never faced those choices, nor have you ever been pregnant." pic.twitter.com/x7SCcvtTID

Of course, not only is the "only some people can comment on this issue" approach fundamentally un-American, it also assumes the very question at issue: were born persons previously unborn persons? If so, everyone who has been born has had a stake in this issue.

Psaki's formulation assumes that women who have been pregnant were not, themselves, the product of pregnancies.

Next time she expresses an opinion about Afghanistan, someone should say, "I know you've never faced those choices nor have you been in the armed forces."

You can empathize with someone in certain situations but you can never understand the situation they find themselves in. Especially, pregnancy. For example, there is a huge difference between a woman that had a miscarriage with their first and only child and a woman with 3 kids.

Pregnancy is a medical risk. Even wanted pregnancies. Just because a man was a product of a pregnancy does not mean he will ever face the risks of a pregnancy. And as long as Texas and the US have such high maternal mortality, pro-birth is NOT pro-lifehttps://utsystem.edu/offices/population-health/overview/severe-maternal-morbidity-texas …

I died on the operating table following a catastrophic birth, and very nearly was not revived. This was in Houston, with our world class medical care. I'm a Christian. The "pro life" movement is sick, cynical, and cruel. Their faith is purely performative.

Fundamental unAmericanism will not be tolerated here. Now excuse Dan while he writes a 10,000-word both-sider endorsing lawsuits against Texas abortion clinic Uber drivers.
