Gooden was the signature Met in the 80s. Maybe the best player in baseball in 85-86.

Yep. Nobody on that team unfortunately from a purely on-field standpoint meets the high bar for number retirement…either not here not long enough or flamed out too early (Doc/Darryl). If there’s one it’s Keith, because you add his time as a beloved long-time broadcaster.
