Dan McLaughlin Retweeted Jeff B. is *BOX OFFICE POISON*

He undoubtedly will be tempted to, because he is a politician - indeed, the nation's most politiciany politician. But at his age, decisions can go out of your hands in a hurry.https://twitter.com/EsotericCD/status/1427322391181631493 …

Does anyone seriously believe Biden will run for reelection at this point?

OTOH, Biden is not Trump. Trump was incapable of walking away if it could be seen as an admission of defeat. Biden, who bailed on presidential bids three times, might use his age as an excuse to leave a looming defeat to someone else if he's politically in bad shape by 2023.

That's partly character & partly life experience. Trump never had trouble bailing out on businesses & marriages that were going downhill. But he didn't have the long experience in politics to know how to cut political losses.

That’s not it re Trump. Trump didn’t cut “losses” in business—he found numerous ways to game the system. He tried the same thing with politics, but he failed. As for the Biden, he will run if he still over 50% and healthy. Not complicated.

He dumped the financial losses on other people, but the point is, in business unlike in politics, he allowed himself to separate his ego investment in his enterprises to an extent that he could walk away from the table instead of being a slave to sunk costs.

Here’s the difference: in business, his imperative, yes, is always to avoid losing money. If his ego contradicted that, then he just changed what his ego would extol, eg, praising his genius bankruptcies.

In politics, victory and only victory (and thus retention of office) could be tore to business opportunities. There’s no equivalent of bankruptcy protection—although, effectively he sought that.
