Because spending doesn’t matter if it’s paid for? I’ll happily concede that Democrats are vastly more in favor of domestic spending than Republicans, and that goes for every Democratic president since Woodrow Wilson.

I didn’t say it doesn’t cost taxpayers anything. But if the majority supports raising taxes to pay for programs, that’s a reasonable calculation? As opposed to unpaid for spending, which has long term ramifications.
