Personal responsibility by far reigns supreme. That said, our federal PR campaign has been downright awful.https://twitter.com/ddiamond/status/1418725626492723203 …

Every person who refuses to get vaccinated is 100% responsible for that decision. This can't be blamed on PR campaigns or the J&J pause or partisanship or access or anything else. People make choices and must live with the consequences.

I agree. And I am not trying to shift blame. But at the same time, our govt policy has been HORRID.

I don't know what else they could have done except plowed through the J&J data.

No. The double talk from the CDC for months hurt. Then, the masks/don't mask/mask debate has made people think that even they don't trust the vaccines. And other than that, what exactly have the Feds done? I have seen very little actual action.

Anybody who refused to get vaccinated because of CDC messaging inconsistencies is 100% responsible for their decision.

Do we 100% blame some dude who pumps gas or mows lawns for a living for basing his decisions, not on the science, but on whether he trusts the people pronouncing scientific conclusions?

What would we be blaming him for? There has been an all-of-government effort to encourage vaccination (though my state tried to halt that for a bit).

The problem has always been a total inability to articulate risk by the CDC They feared saying what was true (seniors are at significant risk, minors at statistically zero risk) For fear the masses wouldn’t take precautions to protect the at risk Produced 2 bad things (1/2)

          Replying to @ReubenR80027912 @baseballcrank and

          1. It ensured that a significant minority of ppl (ie the 30% of vax resistant we see today) would refuse the edicts when it was clear (by April 20) we were lied to 2. The CDC can’t backtrack and admit masks are useless (doubly so for vaxxed & minors)
