Internal polls? Kennedy did exactly what a partisan justice would do and retired at the time that would further conservative/GOP ends. Which is what most modern justices do. Breyer is a useful idiot. RBG also privileged her personal job satisfaction.

I think I'm more pessimistic about the GOP's chances of regaining the Senate than most people, amusingly enough. Those WI and PA seats will be tough holds, and AZ and GA are going to be hard to take back given likely candidate quality.

Warnock is toast. He will not avoid a runoff in GA. And the GOP will win that runoff.

Yes! Of course they are. Every Dem is. So watching an elderly SCOTUS justice do this all over again—while indulging in how great it is that his seniority is now increased (and why? *Because RBG died—he might have noticed who took her place.) is maddening.

But the point is that, whatever Dems *feel* now, is also irrelevant. The most optimistic polls ever don’t mean anything in a 50-50 senate 17 months before the election. So the polls don’t matter, they’re not useful. Its 50-50, both the number and the odds. So retire.
