It depends on who he was talking to. I mean sure, if he was going through proper diplomatic channels. If he was chatting with someone who was already under investigation for say involvement with attacks on our elections/infrastructure? Maybe not so much.
-
Fun fact: if he called their embassy, he was probably talking to a spy.

Should they be spying on Putin? That is the question.

Sorry Dan, while the NSA has abused this in the past, the idea that they were spying on Tucker and not Russians is straight up spin.

There’s no reason to believe the government was. This smells like Nunes’ “unmasking” debacle all over. Very little chance Tucker was “unmasked”, but they’ll say it was obvious who it was because of the context of the conversation.
-
After that silliness 4 years ago, there’s no reason Tucker wouldn’t have known full well that Kremlin operatives in the US are monitored when he spoke with them. The only change that could be made here would be to not monitor Kremlin operatives in the US.

That's not the inquiry, its should we have wires up on people who can be described as "Kremlin intermediaries?" Merely collecting Tucker's comms in that isn't a problem.
-
Yeah, but then the unmasking be leaking to@the media. We can all agree that part was wrong and very likely illegal. Right?
