This assumes the "choice" is like putting down one book and picking up another. It ignores the realities of getting to the other school, the other school having room for you, there being another school at all, etc. In short, it's an argument based on a fantasy.

But school choice would take money from public schools that need it! Exactly. It’s almost like cons want to abolish this failed public institution or leave it altogether but they haven’t been able to so they gotta settle with our current situation
