Oh, definitely. The best form of government (in theory) is an enlightened, benevolent dictatorship. The problem is that enlightened, benevolent dictators are in short supply in this fallen world.

Good ones are hard to find, and dictatorship corrupts even a lot of the ones who start off pretty good.

I mean, the philosopher king concept is easy to buy into in a perfect world. But history shows us that too much power in the hands of any human, no matter how well intentioned, will lead to oppression and/or corruption. Pluralistic rule by the people is necessary to diffuse power
