No ex-president died during FDR's 12+ year presidency. Herbert Hoover was the only living ex-president for that entire time.

When JQ Adams entered office in 1825, all but one of the five prior presidents - Washington, who died 25 years earlier - was still living. Which is just nuts for that era. Average lifespan of the nine presidents born before 1783: 78.5 years old.

Washington probably outlived his projected span, too, between all the premature deaths in his family (and he was sick pretty often himself) and the...many, many bullets.
