Matt Gaetz should not be in Congress. But so long as he is there, duly elected and representing American citizens, he gets to ask questions to our rulers, and they have to answer under oath. That's how democracy works.https://twitter.com/MEPFuller/status/1408223658263339010 …

No, not really. Party leaders decide who gets to ask questions and serve on committees. Probably not so great for someone under FBI investigation to be interrogating the FBI director or overseeing the Department of Justice.

I certainly would not recommend that Republicans follow his lead on anything on oversight, but automatically removing people under investigation from committees would not end well for Democrats, or really, for oversight of the FBI.

It’s not automatic. It’s a case-by-case judgment.

Voters make those judgments. Representatives aren't Cabinet officials, to be fired when they become liabilities to the boss. They don't work for the caucus, they work for their voters.

That doesn’t absolve them of the the consequences that come from doing crimes. So you’re saying that there should be a special election of his district to determine whether he can investigate the agency that’s investigating him? That remedial Team Trump SOP.

We have elections every two years. Or he can be indicted before then.
