I have zero skin in the fight over communion and Biden, have no idea how central the principles at stake are in Catholicism (as opposed to say, the Obama DOJ position on religious freedom in Hosanna-Tabor), but I’m struck by the double standard in commentary.https://twitter.com/tedfrank/status/1406102904918925315 …

Another way the commentary seems odd: if Chief Rebbe So and So issued a statement about Jewish practices, no one outside the faith would think to condescend as to suggest that there would be political consequences to the interpretation.

The connection is remote, but I’m reminded of the controversy over Mormon “conversions” of long dead Jews. I didn’t understand why people were upset. Jews don’t believe this has have any effect. Go ahead and convert me after I’m dead, you’re doubling my odds in Pascal’s Wager.

I don't care who thinks I am going to Hell, so long as they don't consider it their job to send me there.
